Fenghuang Shan, the highest peak of Chizhou, stands majestically on the banks of the Han River, reaching an altitude of 1461 meters. The mountain boasts towering layers of rock, vibrant green, and offers stunning views of Chizhou’s cityscape and the Han River. “Fenmingquan” spring is particularly renowned for its pure and mellow water, legend says a phoenix once resided here, giving the mountain its name. The Phoenix Pavilion, located in the mountain’s middle section, is a Ming and Qing Dynasty ancient building with intricate carvings and decorations. From the pavilion, you can enjoy panoramic views of Chizhou’s eight scenic spots, including “Han River Spring Dawn” and “Xiangqiao Mist Rain.”
