Zhizhou Island, located within Zhanjiang Bay, is a jade-like gem blending volcanic landforms with the ocean’s ecology. The island is renowned for its complete preservation of volcanic rock formations, with reddish-brown rock walls mirroring solidified waves, beautifully contrasting with the emerald-green sea. The oldest existing lighthouse in China, the Zhizhou Lighthouse [built in 1888], stands on the coast, its bell having guided countless fishing boats home, earning it the title of “First Lighthouse of the South Sea.”
