江西省九江市浔阳区琵琶亭

Pípá Tíng
Located on the banks of the Yangtze River in Jiangxi Province, this pavilion was built to commemorate the Tang Dynasty poet Bai Juyi. It derives its name from his timeless masterpiece, “Pipa Xing,” evoking a poetic and evocative scene. The pavilion features soaring eaves and white walls, harmonizing with the flowing river, creating a dynamic watercolor scroll. Numerous inscriptions and steles within the pavilion, created by successive literary figures, are particularly striking, with Dong Qichang’s inscription of “Jiang Yue He Nian Zhou Ren” being the most impactful, its characters strong and resonant with the river breeze.
