Junyang Lou stands on the banks of the Yangtze River in Jiujiang, embodying the essence of Tang Dynasty architecture with its curved eaves and aged bricks and tiles, whispering millennium-old poetry in the river breeze. The building’s intricate carvings and paintings conceal the imagery of “Pipa Xing,” while the eight-sided corridors capture the timeless scene of “Maple Leaf Reed Flower Autumn’s Chill.” Reaching the top floor offers a panoramic view of the Yangtze River and the distant riverbank, accompanied by a daily chime resembling an ancient bronze bell, startling the river seagulls that once frequented the area where the poet resided.
