The Mingtang Tianydang Site is located on Mount Longmen West Hill in Luoyang, it is the most iconic architectural complex of the prosperous Wu Zhou dynasty, and is known as “The First Brilliant Palace in the World.” Its architectural scale surpassed that of all palaces in the world at the time, the Mingtang was a nine-story square tower, and the Paradise was constructed with wooden structures, symbolizing the “Heaven is Round, Earth is Square” cosmological view, showcasing Wu Zetian’s wisdom in governing through “State Shamanism.” The ruins consist of the existing base, rammed earth layers, and some stone carvings, with the Mingtang base, reaching over 30 meters in height, still visible, showcasing the magnificent atmosphere of “Heaven and Earth Connected by a Lotus Leaf.”
