Taizhou Science and Technology Museum is founded on the concept of “empowering cultural heritage through technology,” using immersive interactive experiences and digital technologies to reconstruct historical narratives and create a smart, wisdom-filled space that bridges past and present. The museum features three core exhibition zones: “Future City Experience Zone,” “Space Exploration Pavilion,” and “Digital Art Corridor.” Visitors can step into the role of virtual engineers to design smart communities or witness—through holographic theater—the ancient astronomical instruments described in *Dream Pool Essays* (*Mengxi Bitan*) come to life, experiencing the scientific ingenuity of Shen Kuo, a renowned scientist of the Northern Song Dynasty, reimagined through light and shadow.
A special thematic zone titled “Cultural Heritage of Jianghuai Region” employs augmented reality to recreate Taizhou’s historical significance as a strategic crossroads between the Wu and Chu regions. Here, visitors can interact with 3D maps to explore the naval defense lines established by Han Shizhong, a famed Southern Song general who resisted the Jin invasion, or immerse themselves in an audiovisual spectacle inspired by the legendary *Investiture of the Gods*—featuring Jiang Ziya, a celebrated military strategist from the Shang-Zhou transition—where millennia-old myths resonate with modern technological civilization.
The museum also artfully integrates Taizhou’s ecological wisdom as “China’s Ginkgo Hometown,” presenting biotechnological exhibits that decode climate secrets embedded within ginkgo tree rings. This allows young visitors to contemplate the ancient Chinese philosophy of “harmony between humanity and nature” while exploring quantum computing. Every exhibit subtly embodies cultural DNA, transforming technology from cold abstraction into a vibrant vessel carrying the living pulse of civilization.
