Jiangyan North Mountain Temple
Established during the Tang Dynasty’s reign of Emperor Zhenguan, this ancient monastery has stood for a millennium, one of the best-preserved ancient temples in the TaiZhou region. Located on the mountainside, its soaring roofs and intricate bracket structures conceal Song Dynasty stone carvings, where Zen spirit and history intertwine. The most valuable treasures are the Song Dynasty stone carvings, including the "Zen Forest Sanctuary" inscription, with a vigorous brushstroke recording the deeds of eminent monks, and twelve animal zodiac stone sculptures vividly depicting Buddhist concepts of reincarnation.
