Chayang Lingshan Temple
This temple, built following the mountain’s contours, is the most complete collection of Zen Buddhist temples in Guangdong Province. Its architectural complex blends the essence of Tang and Song Dynasty architecture, with soaring eaves and intricate bracket systems showcasing a classical style. Inside, a Ming Dynasty bronze ancient bell weighs three thousand kilograms, its resonant sound echoing along the Rong River banks. Song Dynasty stone carvings depict excerpts from the “Lotus Sutra,” with lifelike Buddha statues and celestial maidens witnessing a thousand years of artisan ingenuity. Ascending to the temple’s observation platform, one can fully appreciate the magnificent landscape of the Rong River winding through the mountains, particularly stunning when shrouded in mist.
