Li Jiang Si Hu is the essence of Guilin’s mountain and water landscape, composed of Li River, Taohua River and Gu Lake, Mu Long Lake, Rong Lake and Shan Lake, forming a flowing scroll of mountains and water. Cruise ships travel through it, the banks are like jade, the water flows gently, reflecting ancient buildings and modern city skylines, as if time and space are intertwined here. Rong Lake’s Diecai Ting is a viewing spot, you can climb to see the entire Li River view, the lake surface is shimmering, reflecting Guilin City Towers, Mu Long Lake preserves the style of Song Dynasty gardens, the island in the middle of the lake restores the ancient meaning of “mountain surrounds water”, it was a place for writers and poets to cruise and write poems. Gu Lake is known for lotus flowers, the lotus fragrance fills the summer, with surrounding ancient Rong, pavilions and towers, forming a poetic painting. Shan Lake night view is the most stunning, the lights outline a long scroll of ink and wash, reflection and reality are intertwined, as if in a dream. - From the Qin Dynasty, Guilin was established as a county, Lu Zuolin [Tang Dynasty Writer] wrote “River is like a blue silk belt, mountains are like jade hairpins” here, Li Yi [Tang Dynasty Poet]’s border poems also have “Guilin night mooring” , Fan Chengda [Southern Song Poet] painted “Guilin folk customs” with his work. As an important node on the Southern Silk Road, Li Chong [Northern and Southern Dynasties Official] presided over water conservancy projects here, and you can still see ancient dike ruins. Li Jiang Si Hu is not only a natural landscape, but also a living presentation of Guilin’s two thousand years of cultural heritage, every water area flows with the echoes of history.
