Zēngpí Yàn Yùzhǐ is a significant archaeological site, unveiling the mysterious aspects of Guilin’s human civilization. This Neolithic site, located in Guilin, reveals eight thousand years of ancient human survival wisdom. As the earliest Neolithic site in South China, it yielded a collection of reddish-brown clay pottery and stone tools, like a time-traveling code, revealing the mysteries of the early inhabitants of the Li River basin’s cultivation of rice and polishing of jade. The well-preserved rock cave structure within the site perfectly integrates with the natural karst landform, while the ochre-red rock paintings on the cave walls are like a tribute from ancient humans to the heavens.
