Dongguan Science and Technology Museum is guided by the core concept of "symbiosis between science and humanity," deeply integrating cutting-edge technology with Lingnan culture to create an immersive space for exploration. The museum features three major themed exhibition zones: "Future City," "Digital Intangible Heritage," and "Smart Living." Through technologies such as holographic projection, virtual reality, and motion-sensing interaction, it showcases frontier scientific advancements like artificial intelligence and quantum computing. At the same time, it digitally revives intangible cultural heritage skills—such as Cantonese opera and Dongguan grass weaving—allowing visitors to experience the charm of traditional culture empowered by modern technology.
The 4D theater presents "Spark of Lingnan," a film that uses motion seats, scents, and surround sound to vividly reenact Dongguan’s transformation from the "world’s factory" into an "innovation hub" since China’s reform and opening-up, immersing audiences in the city’s dynamic pulse amid waves of technological progress.
The Maker Workshop offers hands-on courses in 3D printing, programming robots, and more, nurturing the creative potential of young people. Meanwhile, the "Science and Technology Corridor" within the park employs dynamic light-and-shadow art to highlight Dongguan’s major scientific and technological breakthroughs over the past 40 years of reform and opening-up.
As a science education base for youth in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the museum not only fulfills its mission of promoting technological innovation but also interprets Dongguan’s evolution from a manufacturing powerhouse into a leading city of technological innovation through its unique narrative blending science and humanities.
