Ping Shan Tang
Ping Shan Tang was originally built during the Qilian years of the Northern Song Dynasty, during the time Ouyang Xiu served as the magistrate of Yangzhou. It takes the meaning of "viewing flat mountains" and is both a memorial to the deceased friend Fan Zhongyuan and a model of Jiangnan garden art. Before the hall, the ancient cypresses have gnarled branches and are emerald green, said to have been planted by Ouyang Xiu. The crown of the trees is like a roof, and the branches are curved like dragons and snakes, which perfectly reflects the meaning of "Ping Shan". The scenic area uses the techniques of stacked stones and winding paths to perfectly blend the landscape with the sentiments of the literati.
