The Jinsha Site Museum, located west of Chengdu, is a magnificent archaeological wonder following Sanxingdui, revealing the secrets of ancient Shu civilization through the Sun Bird golden ornaments and ancient Shu Kingdom sacrificial sites. The core “Sun Bird Square” exhibit features a giant installation of the Sun Bird, with golden fragments embedded in the floor shimmering like a starry river. The “Ancient Shu Civilization Exhibition” displays over 3000 artifacts, including the mysterious smile of a bronze mask and bird patterns on jade, all reflecting the unique aesthetics and beliefs of the ancient Shu people. The original site protection area allows visitors to observe the sacrificial pits up close, with pottery fragments and animal bones still whispering about the grand sacrifices of three thousand years ago. Archaeologists discovered clues about the legend of “Du Yu [Ancient Shu Kingdom Ruler]” at the site, echoing the “Sanxingdui Ancient Shu Kingdom” and revealing the ancient Shu civilization’s complex history.
