Located on the Pearl River in Guangzhou, it is a perfect fusion of Lingnan garden architecture and Cantonese cuisine. It’s soul is the Li Family Academy ancient architectural group adorned with “Three Carved Figures and Two Sculptures” craftsmanship, and the exquisite and elegant charm of Lingnan folk houses from the Qing Dynasty flows through the cyan-tiled and gray-roofed buildings. Entering, a winding garden path connects six-corner pavilions, fish platforms, and other ten scenic spots, with ancient pavilions and green trees complementing each other, as if traveling back to the golden age of Lingnan gardens. The restaurant is famous for “Boat People’s Porridge,” made with fresh river delicacies and a secret broth, with glistening white rice and distinct ingredients. Other dishes like Long Boat Rice and Pān xī Kòu Ròu follow ancient methods, vividly interpreting the Lingnan philosophy of “Food Should Not Be Wasteful.” The hand-written characters “Pān xī” on the lintel were written by Li Wéntiān, a Qing Dynasty official, witnessing the transmission of culture.
