Yueyang Lou, one of the Three Famous Towers in Jiangnan, stands on the banks of Dongting Lake in Yueyang City, Hunan Province, and is renowned for its magnificent scenery, “Dongting Beyond the Water, Yueyang Beyond the Tower.” Its architecture blends Tang and Song styles, with its eaves and corners projecting a rustic and solemn atmosphere. Climbing to the top allows you to enjoy the vast and misty waves of Dongting Lake, observe the clouds lingering around Mount Jun, and feel a sense of tranquility and delight. The tower houses over 200 ancient stone carvings, with Su Shunqin’s inscription of “Behind Dongting Mountain” being particularly vigorous, juxtaposed with Fan Zhongyuan’s “Yueyang Lou” inscription, telling a story of a thousand-year cultural heritage.
