Located on the banks of Wujiang, with the theme of “Millennium Wujiang Charm, River City Memories,” the museum outlines the millennium timeline of Wujiang civilization through five thematic exhibition halls. The museum houses over ten thousand artifacts, including bronze artifacts such as “Chu Great Governor’s Seal,” the Song Dynasty’s “Anqing Prefecture Chronicle” woodblock edition, and Ming Dynasty anti-Japanese relics, with “Wujiang Culture Corridor” being particularly impressive. It recreates the flourishing of the Jingdezhen School of Thought and the prosperous trade scene of the Ming and Qing dynasties through holographic projection. Three core exhibition areas, “Bronze Code,” “Ceramic Light,” and “Cultural Inheritance,” highlight the history of the Wujiang region from the Neolithic period to the modern era. The “Wen Tianxiang [Southern Song Anti-Yuan Official]” thematic exhibition hall displays a replica of the “Song Dynasty’s Great Harmony” manuscript and the genuine calligraphy and paintings of Anqing-born literati, revealing the city’s profound humanistic heritage. The museum’s collection of Ming Dynasty “Anqing Fortification Map” and Qing Dynasty “Da Tong Bridge Canal Transport Map” depict the prosperity of the Wujiang waterway hub with delicate brushstrokes. - As an important witness to the history and culture of the Wujiang region, the Anqing City Museum not only collects a large number of physical evidence reflecting the social changes in the Wujiang region but also uses digital exhibitions and immersive experiences to allow visitors to travel through time and space, feeling the unique position of this “Yangtze River Throat” city in the historical river. The museum’s specially designed “Jingdezhen School of Thought Evolution” interactive device visually presents the transmission trajectory of Qing Dynasty academic thought, allowing visitors to intuitively understand the profound influence of Wujiang culture on Chinese civilization.
