Longshan Temple of Fuding
Longshan Temple of Fuding was originally established during the Tang Dynasty, built into the hillside with a north-south orientation, covering an area of three mu. It is one of the best-preserved Tang Dynasty temples in the southeast of Fujian Province. The temple features intricate carvings and decorations, with a thousand-handed thousand-eyed Guanyin statue in the main hall, shimmering with gold and vividly lifelike. Detailed murals depict the “Guanyin Pumen Pin” story, showcasing delicate brushstrokes and a vibrant color palette. Two stone lions stand majestically before the main gate, their bodies covered in vine patterns, symbolizing the “dragons hidden in the mountains.” The Sutra Pavilion houses a rare woodblock edition of the “Miaofang Lianhua Jing” from the Song Dynasty, with the lingering scent of ink, attracting scholars and artists to write inscriptions.
