Located on Gu Culture Street in Tianjin City, this museum is a cultural hall integrating humanistic history and art treasures. With a collection of 300,000 artifacts spanning a millennium, from Han Dynasty pottery to modern calligraphy, featuring bronze ware, porcelain, and Yangliu Qing Youth Paintings, it vividly outlines the civilization trajectory of Tianjin from ancient times to the present. Its characteristic lies in the fusion of Northern folk customs and sea-side culture, especially with the display of non-material cultural heritage such as Yangliu Qing Youth Paintings and Mudman Zhang clay sculptures, showcasing the superb skills of traditional crafts like “Mudman Zhang” and “Kite Wei”. The core exhibition areas are divided into the Ancient Tianjin Historical and Cultural Display Hall, Folk Culture Exhibition Hall, and Art Exhibition Hall. The Ancient Hall’s bronze and porcelain display cabinets are particularly stunning, with artifacts such as Shang and Zhou Dynasty bronze jugs and Tang Dynasty Three-Color Horses telling the secrets of a thousand-year civilization; in the Folk Culture Hall, Yangliu Qing Youth Paintings and Mudman Zhang clay sculptures shine together, and the lifelike clay figures convey the diverse aspects of city life. The Digital Exhibition Hall uses holographic projection technology, allowing viewers to touch artifacts with their fingertips and feel the pulse of history.
