Tangshan Piyi Museum is a national-level intangible cultural heritage exhibition base, using millennium shadow puppet art as its core, linking light and shadow with human culture. The museum’s meticulously crafted “Shadow Puppet Workshop” demonstrates eighteen traditional processes, including carving, coloring, and oiling, with a carving knife dancing on sandalwood, meticulously outlining lifelike opera characters. Every Saturday’s “Shadow Puppet Theater” stages classic performances such as “Mu Guiying Hanging Scroll” and “Yang Family Chronicles,” bringing historical figures to life on the screen through shifting light and shadow.
