Zhoukou Guandi Temple
Zhoukou Guandi Temple was founded in the Ming Dynasty and is the most complete ancient Guandi temple complex in the Central Plains region. Its grand scale and exquisite craftsmanship perfectly interpret the essence of the Three Kingdoms culture. The temple’s existing structures, including the main gate, altar hall, Guandi shrine, and Chunqiu Tower, are adorned with carved and painted decorations, with the “Guan Gong Night Reading” wood carving and “A Thousand Li Walk Alone” relief sculpture being particularly stunning, with lifelike figures and powerful brushwork. The main hall houses a Guandi statue, clad in crimson armor, with a ruddy complexion and flowing eyebrows, embodying loyalty and integrity. Before the hall, the “Duke Hanshou” plaque was written by a calligrapher of the Qing Dynasty, with powerful brushwork, complementing the “Eternal People’s Limit” plaque within the hall.
