Yuan Tao Jiao Scenic Area
Yuan Tao Jiao Scenic Area is located in Hai Men District, Nantong, Jiangsu Province, a brilliant pearl at the mouth of the Yangtze River, where the majestic scenery of the sea and river converge. Known for the “Three Lines of River, Sea, and Sky” spectacle, the golden reflections of the morning sun and the evening clouds shimmer together, while the salty breeze and crashing waves of the evening tide evoke a sense of awe. The observation deck stands like a giant anchor, providing a 360-degree panoramic view of the Yangtze River’s entry into the sea and the vastness of the Pacific Ocean, as if you could hear the ancient sounds of the tides and the whispers of the waves. The core area consists of the Lighthouse Historical Exhibition Hall, an ecological wetland, and a riverside promenade. The lighthouse, built in the late 19th century, is made of copper and houses historical exhibits. The ecological wetland is an important stopover for East Asian migratory birds, with thousands of white egrets and red-crowned cranes residing here. The swaying reeds and ripples on the river create a vibrant ecological symphony. This land carries the memory of Nantong’s transformation from “Yanguard Port” to “Open Window.” The remains of Ming Dynasty coastal defense fortresses and modern port groups are interwoven here, with the tides flowing through “Rise and Fall of Tides, Life Without End,” witnessing the eternal dialogue between humanity and nature.
