Nantong Ocean World
Nantong Ocean World is located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, a comprehensive marine theme park integrating science popularization education and immersive experience. The venue adopts the design theme of “Blue Planet,” utilizing high-tech means to recreate deep-sea ecosystems. Visitors can observe colorful tropical fish in coral reefs, feel the tranquility of sea turtles leisurely swimming, and dance with clownfish in interactive touch pools, experiencing the wonderful tactile sensations of marine life. The venue features a 4D cinema that presents natural wonders such as whale falls and coral reef growth with stunning audio-visual effects, combined with dynamic seats and environmental effects, making visitors feel as if they are deep in the blue ocean. Core exhibition areas include the Polar Exploration Zone, the Deep Sea Tunnel, and the Marine Theater, with the “Whale Shark Mystery” exhibition area featuring a large water body simulating the deep-sea environment, with groups of sharks swimming through the transparent tunnel, which makes visitors’ hearts accelerate. The venue also has a Marine Science Corridor, which uses holographic projection to tell the survival wisdom of marine life, such as the “walking” way of seahorses and the camouflage technique of octopuses, which is both entertaining and educational. Nantong has been a coastal stronghold since ancient times. Modern industrialist Zhang Lu (a prominent figure in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China) once operated businesses here, promoting the development of marine resources. Ocean World continues the spirit of “born from the sea” of Nantong people, inheriting marine culture with modern technology, becoming a vivid classroom for exploring the blue economy and ecological protection.
