Yu Dong Ancient Town is nestled by the water, steeped in a thousand-year cultural vein of the Jiangnan rain. A group of Ming and Qing brick and tile buildings are built along the water, winding stone streets connect carved window frames and mottled door lintels. Currently, there are 27 existing Ming and Qing ancient residences, with curved eaves and carved windows appearing and disappearing in the morning mist, with the “Yu Family Ancestral Hall”’s brick carvings being the most exquisite, vividly depicting cloud patterns telling of the craftsman’s ingenuity.
