Basongcu National Park
Basongcu National Park is located in the hinterland of Linzhi, known as the “Third Pole” sacred lake. The lake surface is like a sapphire lost in the world, with shimmering waves reflecting the snow mountains and clouds. The Zaxi Temple on the island, built by Songzan Gampo, the founder of the Tibetan Empire, has soaring eaves and intricate wooden supports, with fluttering prayer flags and the chanting of monks carried by the wind, blending beautifully with the lake and mountain scenery. Along the prayer wheel path by the lake, Tibetan people hold prayer wheels, walking steadily, integrating their faith with nature, performing an unchanging, devout ritual that has lasted for thousands of years.
