The Qu Fu Ancient City Wall is a Ming Dynasty defensive relic preserved in the hometown of Confucius. Weathered stone masonry and azure moat create a picturesque scene, evoking a sense of the historical pulse of a thousand-year-old city. The remaining wall ruins reach a height of 12 meters, and the brick and tile construction still reveals the exquisite masonry skills of Ming Dynasty craftsmen. Scattered bricks at the base of the wall subtly display inscriptions such as “Daming Yongle Year Built,” recounting six hundred years of storms and hardship. Willows along the moat sway, and water boats passing by start white egrets, as if transported to the old scene of Confucius lecturing at the Zhentan platform.
