Zhaxhunbu Si is located west of the city of Litupa (Rilaka), it is a significant temple of the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism, and one of the most magnificent temples in Tibet. Its golden top shines brilliantly in the sunlight, creating a beautiful contrast with the mountains, symbolizing the supreme nature of Buddhist law. The temple’s murals are painted with mineral pigments and, after a thousand years, still retain vibrant colors, depicting Buddhist scriptures and historical anecdotes, a true artistic treasure. The circumambulation path is lined with prayer flags fluttering in the wind, butter lamps burn brightly, creating a mysterious and solemn religious atmosphere.
