Tianmen Shan National Forest Park is renowned for its extraordinary peaks and cloud-walking trails, a brilliant gem of Zhangjiajie’s geological wonders. The quartz sandstone peaks exhibit a masterful hand of nature, with the 1200-meter Tianmen Cave plunging into the clouds, 40 meters wide and 131 meters high, considered “The First Wonder of the World,” and within the cave, groups of cliff carvings preserve the inscriptions of countless scholars and artists. Glass walkways suspend above the precipices, 2753 meters long, allowing visitors to overlook the rolling clouds; the Cloud Walk Trail is famous for its “Ninety-Nine Bends,” eighteen turns winding upwards, each corner concealing breathtaking beauty and danger.
