Taihe Bridge
Taihe Bridge is located in the ancient city of Jiandian, Yunnan Province, a stone arch bridge carrying a heavy history and human sentiments. The bridge body is constructed of blue stone and has endured centuries of wind and rain, remaining strong as ever. The bridge deck is carved with exquisite and auspicious designs, serving as an important channel for the ancient merchant guilds. The carvings at the bridgehead record the rise and fall of the Diannan merchant guilds during the Ming and Qing dynasties, witnessing the prosperity of the former “First City of Diannan.”
