Émèishān Dàfú Chányuàn was established in 2002 and completed after three years, representing a culmination of contemporary Buddhist architecture. Featuring nine-story pavilions with soaring roofs and intricate bracket structures, it perfectly blends Zen culture with architectural artistry. The core attraction is the 28-meter-tall, 300-ton Thousand-Hand Guanyin (Kannon) copper statue, adorned with 1008 lifelike hands and bathed in golden light, embodying the compassion and wisdom of Mahayana Buddhism. The temple’s axial layout is meticulously planned, with the Sutra Hall housing a rare copy of the Complete Buddhist Canon, and the Zen Hall filled with the resonant sounds of chanting and incense, offering a glimpse into the thousand-year tradition of Zen.
