Discovery Kingdom is located on the Jinshitan coast of Dalian, a fully immersive theme park that perfectly blends modern technology with Eastern fantastical aesthetics. The park’s core narrative is “The Journey of Discovery,” built through five themed zones creating a timeless fairytale realm: Adventure Island’s “Flying Demon Wheel” features a 180-degree flip challenging limits, the Fairy Tale Castle’s “Dreamy Voyage” utilizes 4D cinema technology to recreate the fantastical chapter of “Journey to the West,” and the Kingdom of the Ocean’s “Wrath of the Sea God” takes visitors on a roller coaster with a panoramic ocean view to overlook the blue sea and sky. As night falls, the park transforms into a palace of light, with tens of thousands of LED light strips outlining mythical creatures from “Records of the Grand Examination,” accompanied by laser projections depicting the dynamic legend of “A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains,” bringing the fairytale world to life in light and shadow. As China’s first “Discovery” themed high-tech park, its design inspiration comes from the Ming Dynasty navigator Zheng He’s “Seven Voyages to the West” feat. The “Zheng He Treasure Ship” theater utilizes holographic imaging to recreate the splendor of the Maritime Silk Road, while the “Silk Road Illusion” project uses VR technology to allow visitors to become silk merchants and travel through time. The park cleverly transforms classic IPs such as “Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio” and “Investiture of the Gods” into interactive experiences, allowing traditional myths to be reborn in mechanical devices and digital art. Here, every detail hides a cultural code, and every roller coaster plunge is a journey through time, allowing visitors to complete a spiritual expedition of exploration and discovery through screams and amazement.
