Ulaanbutong Ancient Battlefield is located in the depths of the Hulunbuir grassland, it was the main battlefield during the Qing Dynasty Emperor Kangxi’s campaign against Galdan (the leader of the Zhungeer tribe). The historical smoke and vast grassland intertwined to create a magnificent painting. The scenic area focuses on “General’s Bubble Cakes,” with the lake mirroring the dilapidated beacon towers, like a glimpse of iron light from a time rift. A group of twelve temple ruins are scattered along the mountain, and you can still recognize the marks of soldiers engraving their achievements between the broken walls, and the weathered stone tablets with inscriptions such as “Pacify the Three Kingdoms” and “Re-Pacify the Zhungeer” still carry a chilling feeling.
