The Flame Mountains are famous for their vivid scarlet rock walls and extreme climate. The geological structure is composed of Neogene sedimentary rocks, shaped by millions of years of wind and water erosion into wave-like terrain, resembling a gaping wound in the earth. Summer surface temperatures can reach 70°C, with daylight lasting up to 16 hours, and the scarlet rock walls appear as solidified lava under the sun, creating a stark visual contrast with the surrounding oases. The area features the Karchaijing irrigation system and vast vineyards, intertwining greenness with red to create a unique landscape.
