Ji Lin Chu Chang Yi Zhi
A Sleeping Gem on the Songhua River, this Ming and Qing Dynasty shipyard site, with its weathered docks and inscribed stone monuments, whispers the glorious epic of “Northern Ship Capital.” The site’s existing dock foundations extend east-west, with traces of rammed earth layers and the occasional remains of cord-marked pottery and iron nails, like solidified time amber, witnessing the formidable power of the “Shipyard” as a Northeast naval stronghold. Inscriptions within the monument group, faintly discernible, tell of the rebuilding of the dock during the reign of the Shunzhi Emperor, revealing the strategic significance of the Qing Dynasty’s early defense against the Russians and consolidation of the border.
