Li Hongzhang’s Former Residence is located on the banks of the Xiaoyaojin in Hefei, the birthplace of late Qing official Li Hongzhang, a residence embodying the collision of Chinese and Western civilizations. Brick and tile courtyards are built into the hillside, and ancient trees in the courtyard seem to be solidified time corridors, with every brick engraved with the momentous events of modern China.
