Taichung Rainbow Village is constructed with vibrant graffiti and humanistic sentiment, transforming a dilapidated village into a contemporary art temple. Rainbow murals resemble flowing rainbow waterfalls, with purple and blue wave patterns subtly revealing the ink-wash realm of “Dream of the Red Chamber”’s Daiyu mourning flowers, crimson phoenix totem spirals across the mottled walls, conveying hope for rebirth. The rainbow archway at the entrance is made of seven-colored glass, refracting seven narratives of the village’s history through shifting light and shadow.
