Huanghe Wenhanguo is located in Ningxia Zhongwei, representing the fusion of the Yellow River culture with modern urban civilization. The square’s core is a group of giant sculptures, nine dynamic-shaped bronze sculptures symbolizing the Yellow River and Ningxia’s thousand-year dialogue, with the “Strategic Pass” sculpture based on ancient canal totem, showcasing Han Dynasty’s “Xi Men Bao’s water management” wisdom, the water channel lines winding like dragons, reflecting Zhongwei’s legendary “First Bridge of the Yellow River.” At night, the light show unfolds along the Yellow River shoreline, thousands of LED light strips undulating with the flow of water, resembling a river of stars falling into the surface, echoing the desert sky of Sandao Town. The square is divided into three main thematic areas: the Culture Corridor recreates Ningxia’s water conservancy history through relief walls, detailing Han Dynasty’s “Lingzhou Canal” and Ming Dynasty’s “Zhencheng Dam” projects; the Interactive Experience Zone features a digital sandbox, allowing visitors to control virtual water gates to simulate ancient water diversion scenes; the Yellow River Eye Observation Deck showcases the Yellow River’s torrent and the desert oasis’s magnificent symphony through a 360-degree panoramic screen. In the southeast corner of the square, the “Water Wheel Museum” displays Ningxia’s traditional water wheel models, with inscriptions on their propeller blades recording the “Li Yi Canal” project overseen by Li Yi, a Ming Dynasty water conservancy expert, which still irrigates ten thousand acres of fertile land. This fertile land, carrying the “Jiangnan on the Plateau” civilization code, condenses the core spirit of the Yellow River culture into a perceptible and participatory modern landscape, allowing every step taken on the blue stone pavement to hear the Yellow River’s water and Ningxia’s earth’s thousand-year resonance.
