Located at the southern end of Tiananmen Square, it is a solemn memorial building constructed after the founding of the People's Republic of China to commemorate the great leader Mao Zedong. The main body of the memorial hall adopts a palace-style architectural style similar to the Forbidden City, with red walls and golden roofs, with a magnificent atmosphere, echoing with the Monument to the Heroes of the People. Inside, there is a hall for the viewing of the remains of Comrade Mao Zedong, with a solemn and sacred atmosphere, with golden versions of Volumes 1 to 4 of “Selected Works of Mao Zedong” inlaid on the surrounding walls, symbolizing the eternal inheritance of the thought of the great man.
