Li’an Museum
The Li’an Museum is located at the foot of the Dabie Mountains and is a comprehensive museum centered on humanistic history. Its collection of bronze and folk cultural relics like a time capsule, connecting over two thousand years of civilization in Li’an. The museum’s three core exhibition halls are captivating: the “Wan Guo Relics” special exhibition featuring a Chu-style dragon-patterned vessel and Li’an Gua Pian tea set, showcasing the fusion of bronze civilization and tea culture; the folk cultural relic area’s “Mountain Village Memories” interactive exhibition, recreating the scene of the Li’an folk song “Three Rivers Small Tune” through holographic projection; and the historical corridor uses a time tunnel device to connect the civilization map from the ancient Wan Guo to modern Li’an. As an important part of the ancient Wan Guo capital site, Li’an was a hub for the convergence of Chu culture and Central Plains civilization. The museum’s collection of Warring States bamboo slips recording “Li’an Dialect” (by a late Han Dynasty linguist) provides valuable text for studying the evolution of ancient Chinese; and the ancestral artifacts related to Li Hongzhang (a late Qing Dynasty official) make this museum an important window for exploring modern history. Every exhibit tells the story of Li’an’s leap from the Bronze Age to modern civilization, allowing visitors to touch the city’s soul.
