Zhenleishan is located in Anyang City, Henan Province, and is famous worldwide for the “Zhenlei” spectacle. The towering mountain peaks are often shrouded in clouds and lightning during rainy seasons, resembling a divine brushstroke. Ancient temples and waterfalls create a beautiful contrast. The core area consists of three major regions: Zhenlei Peak, Feilong Waterfall, and Yunuotan. Zhenlei Peak is equipped with an observation platform offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Feilong Waterfall cascades down from a cliff, with rainbows appearing amidst the mist. Yunuotan features a mirror-like lake with an ancient temple built during the Tang Dynasty, with moss-covered eaves and ridges. Winding trails snake through the mountains, showcasing unique rocks and trees, including the legendary “Zhenleisong.” According to the “Anyang Fuzhi,” Zhenleishan is a Taoist holy site. Song Dynasty literary master Su Shi visited and built a residence here, leaving behind the poem “Thunderous roar, thousand peaks, rain; Cloud-filled valleys, thousand ravines, pine trees.” The ancient temple was built during the Tang Dynasty’s Zhenguan period and has attracted countless literary figures, leaving over twenty cliff carvings. The cave at the summit, “Leigong Dong,” is rumored to be the dwelling of the Thunder God, with numerous stalactites and a flowing underground river, still a sacred site for local worship. This mountain combines natural wonders and cultural heritage, a rare double-winning destination in the Central Plains.
