Century Square is located in the heart of the city, characterized by its stunning night views and rich humanistic heritage, making it a landmark of the city. The central “Eye of Time” sculpture group consists of three dynamic installations, symbolizing Changchun’s transformation from an industrial base to a modern metropolis. At night, the light show uses holographic projection technology to recreate the “First Auto” manufacturing history scene, with dazzling colors making it seem like a journey through time [Zhang Xueliang [Northeast Army General] ]. The fountain performance integrates Northeast folk song melodies, with water columns rising and falling to the tune of “On the Songhua River,” and interacts with the surrounding “Changchun Sculpture Garden.” On the east side of the square, the “Puyi Imperial Palace” ruins park [Prince Chun-yu [Last Emperor] ], with its remaining palace walls and copper gates, tells of a century of vicissitudes, forming a dialogue between history and reality with modern architecture. As Changchun’s first large city square, its design is inspired by the “Mount Changbai” imagery, the ground paving uses basalt and mirror materials, reflecting the city’s skyline, becoming the core space for citizens to gather, celebrate and showcase culture, carrying the collective memory and spirit of the revitalization of Northeast Old Industrial Base.
