As Northeast China’s largest zoological park, Changchun Botanical Park seamlessly integrates natural ecology with human entertainment. The park operates on the core philosophy of “harmony between humans and nature,” featuring themed areas such as the Big Cat Zone, Primate House, and Children’s Interactive Playground. With over a hundred rare and precious animals alongside fairytale castles and ocean ball pools, the park offers immersive natural experiences for visitors. A key highlight is the opportunity to observe over a hundred animals, including Northeast tigers, golden monkeys, and black swans, up close. Notably, the Big Cat Zone utilizes an open-style enclosure design, allowing visitors to gaze across at fierce animals like Northeast tigers and bears, experiencing the beauty of the wild. The Children’s Playground offers jungle exploration and animal-shaped climbing structures, combining education and fun. The botanical garden showcases tropical rainforest plants, complemented by a science education corridor, creating a unique ecological landscape. Established in 1952, the park was originally a garden attached to the former Manchu Imperial Palace, with animal husbandry records dating back to the reign of Puyi, the last Emperor of China. Following China’s reform and opening-up policy, it was gradually upgraded into a modern themed park, preserving elements of the architectural style of the Republic of China era, creating a dialogue between past and present with contemporary recreational facilities. The park regularly hosts animal protection lectures, transmitting ecological concepts through interactive experiences, establishing it as an important science education base in Northeast China.
