A magnificent collection of cliff-carved sculptures located in Da Zuo District, Chongqing, Da Zuo Shike is a World Heritage Site, renowned for its cliff-carved sculptures. It integrates Confucian, Buddhist, and Taoist cultures, showcasing the pinnacle of millennium stone carving art. The Beishan Cliff Carved Sculpture Group was carved from the early Tang Dynasty and continued until the Southern Song Dynasty, with a dominant Tang style. The Beishan Great Buddha, 7.5 meters high, has a kind face and flowing robes, showcasing the thick and resonant artistic style of Tang Dynasty stone carvings. The Thousand-Armed Avalokiteshvara is stunning with 480 arms and 2800 palm hands, each with lotus flower decorations, a perfect crystallization of Buddhist art and craftsman wisdom.
