Ganzhou Ancient City Wall
The Ganzhou Ancient City Wall was originally built during the Han Dynasty, expanded during the Ming Dynasty to form its current layout, stretching over 3600 meters, resembling a dragon winding along the Gan River. It is the best-preserved Ming and Qing ancient city wall in the Jiangnan region. The walls are built on a foundation of rice-mud mortar and brick, with dense arrow slits and staggered battlements. Climbing the walls provides a stunning view of the Gan River flowing and the city’s buildings lining its banks. The late afternoon light adds to its solemn and magnificent atmosphere.
