Located in Hengyang, a city renowned as the "South of the Xiang River," this library, originally the site of the Hengyang School’s book repository, seamlessly integrates traditional Chinese garden aesthetics with contemporary design. Within its walls, visitors can experience the serene beauty of a courtyard with brick and tile structures, flowing water beneath arched bridges, and bookshelves arranged like bamboo groves, creating an atmosphere of “books in the garden, reading like a journey.” The library features a non-heritage experience zone where visitors can learn to create traditional crafts like Hengyang bamboo weaving and Xiang embroidery, alongside a traditional manuscript restoration workshop, allowing traditional skills to be reborn at your fingertips.
